| Yowah Enterprises is a small family business started on the Yowah Opal Fields of South West Queensland, Australia by Kim and Therese Shorten.
In 1991 we celebrated the arrival of the first of our three children
Ryan, followed by Kimberlea and Madison. Since 1991 Kim has diversified the family business from manufacturing mining machinery: hoists; ladders; buckets; trommels, etc to designing and producing high quality
stainless steel cutting and polishing equipment.

Kim has a thorough working knowledge of opal, particularly Yowah nuts and matrix, as he is experienced in the opal mining and mining machinery industry for
over thirty years. This depth of knowledge is reflected in the quality of machines he produces.
These custom built stainless steel machines meet the many and varied needs of the discerning cutter and polisher for both large-scale operations and hobby activities.
